Electric Ferry Docker Charger

Momentum Marine supports fleet electrification programs by providing a robust solution with proven charging technology for fast and reliable operation for e-ferrys.

For non electric fleet retrofitting, most existing ferry vessels are powered by large diesel engines that contribute to the air emissions problems of many metropolitan areas. Cities must therefore strike a balance between encouraging mass transit options and continuing to reduce air emissions. This is a challenge faced by many cities around the country and around the world.

Initial research indicates that most passenger ferries operating are using engine power to hold their boats to the dock. Moreover, ferry throttles are often held at one half to three quarter position to safely allow passengers to embark and disembark the vessel. Thus, these vessels are burning significantly more fuel than necessary to carry passengers across waterways and emitting significant pollutants in the air. The use of our ferry docking system would allow diesel ferries to use auxiliary power or throttle back, rather than remain at high throttle, during loading and unloading.

Momentum Marine has partnered with New York Water Taxi to develop a novel automatic ferry docking system.

Electric Yacht Custom Autodocker

Many new luxury yachts require electric propulsion and a fast reliable solution to connect utilities to the dock.  Furthermore many deckhands are needed to assist the captain with the docking process.  This process is usually a stressful and risky part of the yachting experience.  Momentum Marine can offer custom solutions for automating the docking and battery charging process for your vessel.
